I taught English in South Korea for five years, but my dream was always to live in North America. In 2017, that dream became a reality when I moved to Canada.
Starting over as an immigrant wasn’t easy—it felt like climbing a mountain. Just as I began to find my footing, COVID-19 hit, and my confidence took a huge blow.
I kept asking myself:
“Can I compete with native speakers? Will I ever find a stable job? Is this my life forever?”
It was tough, but looking back, it was the start of a major transformation.
Living in Vancouver on less than $3,000 a month was tough.
One summer, I stumbled across a YouTube video about earning online. It made it sound easy. Spoiler: it wasn’t.
But something clicked for me:
âś” My English improves with daily practice.
âś” My Instagram grows with consistent daily content.
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about showing up, every single day.
